The UK is a Halal Food paradise compared to other European countries, but for some time now, there have been sporadic calls for the banning of halal slaughter in the country, with claims of it being so-called cruel and barbaric. Who is making these claims and should Muslims and Jews, who slaughter in a similar way, worry? Fareena Alam discusses with a panel of experts whether there is a backlash against Halal food.
