Host: Fareena Alam
Broadcaster: British Muslim TV
First Broadcast: 24th of August 2015
Few people would blink an eye if one would say that it is a man’s job to be the default bread-winner in a family. It is considered a norm on so many levels, particularly in Muslim cultures. But not all families make this choice, whether willingly or unwillingly. This episode of Questions addresses the phenomenon of whether Muslim men can be happy, successful stay at home dads? Fareena is joined by an exeptional panel of experts to explore how this issue is viewed in its Islamic, historic and cultural context, and what positive and negative impact might such changing roles have on the health of Muslim families and communities today?
